The Dorothy Killam Fellowships support scholars of exceptional quality by granting them time to pursue their research projects that have broad significance in the areas of the humanities, natural sciences, health sciences, engineering, or research linking any of these disciplines. Each year, between 5 and 8 of these prestigious fellowships are awarded, and this year our own Dr. Mark Schmidt was one of the recipients.
Dr. Mark Schmidt is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science, and is a member of both CAIDA and AIM-SI. He has made significant impacts in the fields of both machine learning and numerical optimization.
