UBC Electrical and Computer Engineering Professor, ICICS member, and CAIDA member Dr. Vincent Wong has recently received $1.5 million in funding from the Canadian Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces for a project titled “Toward Situational-aware and Adaptive 5G Networks for Defence and Security: A Machine Learning Approach.” This funding was awarded due to the team’s successful proposal submission in the Government of Canada’s Innovations Networks Challenge posed by DND’s Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security (IDEaS) program.
